Job Description

. Location : Hybrid working at our office in Wimbledon. Oversee the preparation, review and delivery to HMRC of all UK corporate tax compliance (outsourced to an external firm). Estimate and manage UK corporation tax quarterly instalment payments. Manage the calculation and estimation of the UK corporate interest restriction. Manage the delivery and optimisation of claims for UK capital allowances. Oversee the delivery by the UK finance team of UK VAT and IPT returns and compliance requirements. Manage and minimise irrecoverable VAT, including maintaining the UK partial exemption special method. Identify, manage and deliver tax optimisation initiatives, with due regard to the Group's low risk appetite. Support, advise on and review the UK PSA arrangements, and more generally provide guidance and expertise on employment tax matters, working with internal teams (Reward and Payroll) to ensure accurate and compliant reporting. Manage transfer pricing arrangements within the Group. Manage European tax compliance processes under outsourcing arrangements, in conjunction with the European finance team. Manage withholding tax obligations, including with regard to the Group's debt. Manage direct tax aspects of the Group's budget and forecasting process with a focus on ensuring the accuracy of forecast cash tax paid. Manage tax reporting requirements, including calculation of current and deferred taxes for the Group and liaise with Group Reporting and external auditors to deliver audited numbers. Manage Pillar II and associated country-by-country reporting compliance obligations. As the tax subject matter expert, a high degree of expertise will be needed in direct and indirect tax matters, together with a willingness to learn and develop in areas of tax that are relevant to D&G, such as employment tax. Experienced senior tax professional, with the ability to work and communicate effectively at all levels of the business including senior stakeholders, external advisors etc. The role-holder will regularly work with professional advisors to manage tax deliverables, reduce risk and take advice on complex matters, and will, therefore, need experience in dealing with advisors and auditors. Confident, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment Able to think creatively, be a self-starter who is able to work independently with minimal supervision, and to have a keen awareness of risk management. Clear written and oral communication skills, including simplifying complex subjects for non-experts and a variety of senior and other stakeholders. Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail, good judgment showing logical decision making Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines Experience of establishing and maintaining a robust and effective control environment with appropriate documentation Qualified accountant with tax experience or qualified tax advisor (ACA or CTA preferred) Business and commercial awareness Systems: good level of IT skills, including MS office. Experience of Workday preferred but not essential.
