Mechanical Design Verification

  • Define, plan, and execute mechanical design verification activities against requirements, specifications, and applicable standards.
  • Review mechanical designs, drawings, tolerances, materials, and assemblies to identify verification risks and gaps.
  • Develop verification strategies, test plans, and test specifications aligned to product requirements and design intent.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and verification evidence.
Test Execution & Analysis
  • Perform mechanical verification testing including (but not limited to):
    • Environmental and durability testing (shock, vibration, drop, thermal, ingress protection).
    • Structural and mechanical integrity testing.
    • Wear, fatigue, and life cycle testing.
  • Design, specify, and build mechanical test fixtures, jigs, and rigs to support verification activities.
  • Analyse test results, identify failure modes, and provide clear root cause feedback to design teams.
  • Produce clear, concise, and accurate verification reports with objective pass/fail conclusions.
Prototypes & Samples
  • Assemble mechanical prototypes and test samples in line with design documentation.
  • Manage and catalogue verification samples throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Support iterative development design improvements through rapid test feedback loops.
External Testing & Compliance Support
  • Prepare samples and fixtures for external test houses.
  • Support external mechanical and environmental testing activities, including attendance where required.
  • Ensure internal verification aligns with relevant industry and regulatory standards.
Equipment & Process Improvement
