Location: B18, Birmingham
Shift: Morning or Day Shift
Pay Rate: £16+

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing client based in B18, Birmingham, who is looking to add an experienced Laser Operator to their production team.

This role would suit a candidate with hands-on experience operating Mazak or Trumpf laser cutting machines, seeking stable day-shift work in a busy manufacturing environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Operating CNC laser cutting machines (Mazak or Trumpf) to produce components to specification
• Loading and unloading sheet metal safely and efficiently
• Setting up jobs in line with engineering drawings and cutting schedules
• Monitoring cut quality and making basic machine adjustments as required
• Carrying out routine machine checks and basic maintenance
• Ensuring all work meets quality standards and production targets
• Completing production paperwork and job records accurately
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised work area

The Candidate

Our client is looking for someone who:

• Has proven experience operating Mazak or Trumpf laser machines
• Can read and interpret engineering drawings confidently
• Has a good understanding of sheet metal materials and laser cutting processes
• Works accurately with strong attention to detail
• Is reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Has a good awareness of health & safety within a manufacturing environment
