About the Project

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to lead the delivery of a large-scale Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover, working closely with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Full end-to-end project management of solar PV and BESS works

• Planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction activities on site

• Managing contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers

• Programme management, including schedules, milestones, and critical path

• Budget control, cost tracking, and change management

• Ensuring compliance with HSEQ requirements and industry standards

• Liaising with grid operators, landowners, engineers, and local stakeholders

• Risk management and issue resolution throughout the project

• Reporting progress to clients and senior stakeholders

• Supporting commissioning, testing, and final handover

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience managing utility-scale solar and/or battery storage (BESS) projects

• Strong background in renewable energy, power, or large infrastructure projects

• Solid understanding of construction, electrical works, and grid connections

• Excellent contractor and stakeholder management skills

• Strong commercial and programme management capability

• Comfortable working independently in a freelance/contract role

• Relevant qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, or Construction (desirable)
