Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene procedures (training will be provided). Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting. Have a flexible, positive approach to working. Reporting directly to the Leading Hand Purpose of the role As a Production Operative within our door manufacturing facilities, you will play a key role in producing high-quality doors to exacting standards. Working as part of a collaborative production team, you ll contribute to daily output targets, uphold our commitment to safety and quality, and actively engage in daily tier meetings to support continuous improvement and team communication. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing & Assembly: Operate machinery and tools to assemble doors and related components in accordance with production plans and specifications. Quality Assurance: Inspect materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards. Report any defects, deviations, or potential improvements promptly. Teamworking: Collaborate with colleagues across shifts and departments to maintain smooth workflow, share best practices, and support a positive, team-oriented culture. Daily Tier Meetings: Participate in structured daily tier meetings to review performance metrics (safety, quality, delivery, and cost), discuss issues, and contribute ideas for improvement. Health & Safety: Follow all site safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times. Identify and report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately. Continuous Improvement: Engage in problem-solving activities and support lean manufacturing or 5S initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient environment. Skills & Experience Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (preferably within wood, joinery, or door manufacturing industries). Good understanding of quality control processes and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment. Communication skills and willingness to contribute in meetings and discussions. Able to safely operate hand and power tools. Flexible and proactive approach to tasks and problem-solving.
