Vehicle Technician / Automotive Technician / Mechanic / Diagnostic Technician

17- 20 per hour GL5 Mon-Fri Early Finish Fridays

Are you an experienced Vehicle Technician, Automotive Technician, Mechanic or Diagnostic Technician looking for a stable role in a well-run, accredited workshop?

This opportunity is with an established, award-winning independent accident repair and vehicle maintenance centre based near Stroud. The business is approved by major insurers and accredited to industry standards, with a reputation built on quality workmanship, proper diagnostics, and customer care.

They are now looking to add a skilled Vehicle Technician/Motor Mechanic/Automotive Engineer to their close-knit technical team.



The Role

You will carry out diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance across a varied fleet of vehicles, ensuring all work meets high safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Diagnose vehicle faults using diagnostic software, manuals, and schematics
  • Carry out mechanical repairs (engine, transmission, brakes, electrics)
  • Complete routine servicing and maintenance
  • Perform ADAS diagnostics and vehicle geometry
  • Welding and equipment repairs when required
  • Pre-MOT repairs to VOSA MOT standards
  • Mechanical repairs on Ambulance Trust vehicles
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop
  • Work collaboratively to deliver consistent, high-quality results


What We're Looking For

Suitable for experienced:
Vehicle Technicians / Automotive Technicians / Motor Mechanics / Diagnostic Technicians / Mechanical Technicians

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in vehicle repair and maintenance
  • NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Technician (or equivalent)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Confident using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic systems

Desirable (not essential):

  • C1 licence
  • F-Gas accreditation

You should also have:

  • Strong fault-finding ability
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise work and function well within a small team


Pay, Hours & Benefits

  • 17.00- 20.00 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Monday-Thursday: 08:00-17:00
  • Friday: 08:00-13:00 (early finish)
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
