Catering Assistant - Swanscombe

Start: 27 January 2026
Hours: 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM (Weekly schedule may vary)
Pay Rate: 12.21 per hour (PAYE)
Location: Swanscombe, DA10 0LP, UK

We are looking for a reliable and friendly Catering Assistant to support catering services at a local school in Swanscombe. Due to the nature of the role, an Enhanced DBS check is mandatory. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in delivering a high-quality food service in a structured environment.



Role Description

As a Catering Assistant, you will support the day-to-day running of catering services. You will assist with food preparation, service, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.



Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting with basic food preparation and food service

  • Serving food and beverages in a professional and friendly manner

  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and health & safety

  • Cleaning and sanitising kitchen, service, and dining areas

  • Supporting stock control and kitchen organisation

  • Delivering excellent customer service at all times

  • Working effectively as part of a catering team



Requirements

  • DBS Enhanced Check - mandatory

  • Food Safety Certificate Level 2 - desirable

  • Previous catering or food service experience preferred

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when required
