Secondary School Teaching Assistant

Responsibilities

• Help deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
• Aid student progress through regular evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.
• Implement behaviour management strategies tailored to individual student needs, including those requiring special education support.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and guardians to support student well-being and educational success.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required.

Experience

• Proven experience as a teacher/ teaching assistant at the secondary school level, with a strong understanding of curriculum delivery.
• Experience working with students requiring special education or behaviour management strategies is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging students with diverse learning needs and backgrounds.
• Prior tutoring experience is advantageous, demonstrating the ability to personalise instruction effectively.
