Conveyancing Assistant
Salary: 27,000 - 30,000 (DOE)
Location: Manchester City Centre
Hours: Monday - Friday, full-time

Full-time, Permanent Position

We are seeking an organised, proactive, and detail driven Conveyancing Assistant to join our client's busy Manchester City Centre office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in residential conveyancing who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive and professional legal team. The successful candidate will support fee earners in managing a varied caseload of property transactions from instruction to post completion, ensuring a smooth and efficient client experience.

The Key Responsibilities of the Conveyancing Assistant:
Provide administrative and legal support to conveyancers handling residential property transactions
Open new files, prepare client care packs, and carry out initial onboarding processes
Handle Land Registry searches, ordering office copies, and conducting ID/AML checks
Draft standard conveyancing documents and correspondence
Liaise with clients, solicitors, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other stakeholders
Manage incoming emails, post, telephone queries, and update case management systems
Assist with exchange and completion processes, including preparing statements and organising completion funds
Handle post completion tasks such as submitting SDLT returns and registering titles with the Land Registry
Maintain accurate, organised files in line with compliance and regulatory requirements
Support the wider conveyancing team with general administration as required

The Key Requirements of the Conveyancing Assistant:
Essential:
Previous experience working within residential conveyancing
Strong understanding of the conveyancing process from instruction to completion
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and work proactively
Confident using case management systems and Microsoft Office
Professional, friendly manner with a commitment to delivering excellent client service
Desirable:
Knowledge of Land Registry Portal and HMRC SDLT system
Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
Interest in progressing within conveyancing or residential property law
