Job Description

The Role
Our Cybersecurity & Privacy Consulting practice delivers independent, strategic advisory services that help organisations address their most complex cyber, privacy, and resilience challenges. We support clients in aligning business, digitaltransformationand cyber strategies, enabling them to navigate risk with confidence, protect value, and unlock growth in an increasingly dynamic threat landscape.

As a Cybersecurity Managing Consultant,you will be a senior leader within our Cybersecurity & Privacy team, partnering closely with specialists in digital transformation, change management, enterprise technology, and risk advisory. You will engage with a diverse client portfolio - including major brands across multiple sectors - helping them build resilience, modernise their operating models, and seize opportunities created by emerging technologies.

You will takea central roleindriving sales, shapingsolutionsandexpanding keyaccountsacross the UK,Europeand the Middle East. You will collaborate with our global Centres of Excellence, bringing multidisciplinaryexpertiseto complex client challenges and helping accelerate the growth and maturity of our cybersecurity & privacy offering.

This roledemandsa strategic, commercially minded consultant with the credibility to influence senior stakeholders,leveragingyour sales and technical experienceto sell solutionsandscale a growing business. You will pair strong analytical rigour with entrepreneurial thinking, combining structuredproblem solvingwith a passion for developing new opportunities and forminglong-termclient relationships.


Responsibilities

Business Development & Thought Leadership

  • Lead business development activity across your network, target accounts and new markets, identifying, originating and shaping revenue opportunities.
  • Position our cybersecurity, privacy and digital transformation services through strong storytelling, subject matter expertise and commercial insight.
  • Support go to market initiatives, developing propositions, sales collateral and client ready thought leadership.
  • Collaborate with Key Account Leads across Talan to build strategic opportunities by positioning cybersecurity and privacy as an enabler.
  • Lead end to end client engagements from discovery and scoping through to solution architecture, delivery oversight and value realisation.
  • Design and deliver integrated solutions spanning cybersecurity, data privacy, digital transformation, organisational change and technology enablement.
  • Position cybersecurity as a strategic business enabler, advising senior executives on risk driven decision making and technology-led resilience strategies.

Account Growth & Practice Building

  • Shape and expand key accounts, identifying cross sell and upsell opportunities across change, data, technology and transformation services.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, contributing to long term revenue growth and account expansion plans.
  • Champion best practice, intellectual capital development and continuous improvement across our consulting offerings

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Proven sales track record within a consulting environment - originating, shaping and closing complex consulting opportunities.
  • Experience designing and delivering complex cybersecurity solutions, integrating privacy and technology transformation.
  • Industry-recognised certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent, and NCSC certifications.
  • Strong consulting toolkit: structured thinking, analytical strength, client-facing credibility and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to influence C suite and senior leaders, positioning cybersecurity as a pillar of organisational transformation.
  • Commercial awareness with experience in account growth, opportunity qualification and pipeline management.
  • Drive and determination to take on our challenge of scaling our services.
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity technologies, privacy frameworks, GRC and risk management within enterprise settings.
  • Evidence of client handling skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to spot opportunities and risks.
  • Intellectual curiosity, structured thinking, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and bring structure to client challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong academics results from a leading institution.
  • Related experience in consulting, or blue-chip corporate sectors
  • Experience of being part of teams delivering challenging projects
  • 5-7 years' experience in similar role
  • Experience with the NCSC Assured Consulting Framework.
  • Previous experience of working in our target sectors - financial services, energy & utilities, UK defence
  • Mid-tier, large consulting background
  • French language skills are an advantage, although we operate primarily as an English speaking organisation
