Senior Structural Engineer
Location: Thatcham area, Berkshire
Salary: Up to £52,000 (flexible depending on experience)
Start Date: October 2025
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
WFH: Primarily office-based, with flexibility for occasional remote work
We're working with a well-established, independent engineering consultancy based in Newbury, who are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their close-knit technical team. With over 30 years of local presence and a strong pipeline of repeat business, this firm offers a rare opportunity for an experienced engineer to take ownership of projects and grow within a flat, collaborative structure-with potential for future partnership.
The Role:
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys variety and autonomy. You'll be managing multiple small-scale domestic projects (typically 6-8 at a time), liaising directly with architects, builders, and private clients. Projects range in value up to £5m and include:
- Residential developments
- Education and council buildings
- Mixed-use and developer-led schemes
- Occasional commercial work
- Civil and drainage elements

- Chartered or near-chartered Structural Engineer
