This Quantity Surveyor role sits within a well-established residential groundworks business delivering foundations, roads, sewers, drainage and external works for leading housebuilders and private developers across the North West.

The Role Groundworks Quantity Surveyor

The Quantity Surveyor will take ownership of residential groundworks schemes from pre-start through to final account. This is a practical, site-facing role suited to a Quantity Surveyor who understands housing infrastructure and enjoys being close to the work.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial management of residential groundworks projects

• Budget setting, cost planning and financial control

• Monthly valuations and cost value reconciliations

• Management of variations and change control

• Subcontractor procurement and account administration

• Cost forecasting and reporting to senior management

• Supporting site teams with commercial and contractual advice

• Final accounts and client liaison

Ideal Quantity Surveyor Background

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential groundworks or civil engineering

• Familiar with foundations, drainage, roads and external works

• Confident managing subcontract packages and commercial risk

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• Relevant construction or commercial qualification preferred
