About this Role

The Senior Fundraising Consultant for the Grids of the Future initiative will play a pivotal role in securing the financial resources necessary to spearhead modern grid technologies across various regions in the Global South. This position is central to advancing GEAPP's agenda of ensuring that renewable, resilient, and digitally advanced power grids become foundational to economic growth and climate mitigation strategies. The role requires developing comprehensive fundraising strategies that resonate with philanthropic entities and potential investors hungry for catalytic, impactful projects. Additionally, part of the consultant's responsibility is to craft narratives that effectively link grid modernization efforts with broader developmental impacts, fostering connections with stakeholders and contributing to strategic alliances.

Responsibilities
  • Design and execute a global fundraising plan to raise $25-35M in startup capital.
  • Engage with at least five core philanthropic partners and three multi-donor climate funds.
  • Curate co-fundraising opportunities with aligned organizations.
  • Build compelling narratives, proposals, and pitch materials for Grids of the Future.
  • Communicate the catalytic role of philanthropic capital in mobilizing blended finance.
  • Document and share success stories demonstrating scalable solutions.
  • Secure funding for flagship demonstration projects.
  • Map funding flows across energy transition, infrastructure, and digitalization.
  • Track evolving donor priorities and build strategic alliances.
  • Align fundraising efforts with GEAPP regional teams and support international convenings.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Infrastructure Finance, International Development, or related fields.
  • 10+ years of experience in international development fundraising.
  • Proven track record in raising $5M+ annually from diverse sources.
  • Experience working across Global South regions.
  • Strong global systems thinking and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Existing relationships with philanthropies, DFIs, MDBs, and climate funds.
