Our consultancy client are seeking Senior Quantity Surveyors for secondments into Thames Water projects based out Reading with hybrid working on a permanent or freelance basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional looking for flexibility, with the option to work on either a freelance or permanent basis. Experience within the water sector is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Commercial management of projects delivered under NEC3/NEC4 contracts
- Preparation and management of cost plans, budgets, forecasts, and final accounts
- Administration of NEC contract processes, including early warnings, compensation events, and change control
- Procurement and management of subcontractors and supply chain partners
- Accurate valuation of works and assessment of applications for payment
- Commercial reporting to internal stakeholders and clients
- Identification and management of commercial risks and opportunities
- Supporting project teams to ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual and financial objectives
Skills/experience/qualifications
- Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyoror Quantity Surveyor at a senior level
- Strong working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts
- Background in civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or similar sectors
- Water sector experience desirable but not essential
- Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team
