Learning Support Assistant - Special School
Location: Croydon
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming special school in Croydon. This special school in Croydon provides high-quality education and training for pupils with additional needs.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support pupils throughout the school day, working closely with teachers and therapists in Croydon. You will help create a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports education and training.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils with additional needs in the classroom and around the school
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support during lessons and activities
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery
- Helping pupils access learning through adapted and practical activities
- Supporting behaviour, emotional regulation, and positive engagement
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and social skills
- Supporting personal care and mobility where required
- Observing, recording, and sharing pupil progress with staff
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and therapists
- Maintaining a safe, structured, and inclusive environment
