Newport
30,000- 40,000 DOE

A well-established and growing environmental consultancy is seeking an Ecologist to join its expanding team in Newport. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ecological professional to work on a diverse range of projects across the UK, contributing to meaningful work that supports biodiversity and sustainable development.



The Role

You will be involved in a wide variety of ecological projects, including ecological surveys, reporting, and client liaison. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality ecological advice to support planning and conservation outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Phase 1 habitat surveys and protected species surveys

  • Produce ecological reports, including PEAs, PRAs, and EcIAs

  • Provide ecological advice to clients and project teams

  • Support mitigation and enhancement strategies

  • Assist with project management and meeting deadlines



About You

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field

  • Experience working as an Ecologist or Assistant Ecologist in consultancy

  • Good knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy

  • Experience with protected species and habitat surveys

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • A full UK driving licence
