Location: Kingston upon Thames, South West London
Pay: 95 - 115 per day
Contract: Full Academic Year (Long-Term)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Until July 2026
Hours: 08:30 - 16:30, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Commutable From: Surbiton, New Malden, Richmond, Teddington, Twickenham, Chessington, Raynes Park

Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Kingston for the remainder of the academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking for stability and the chance to make a lasting impact within a Year 1 class during their foundational year.

We are specialising in placing committed support staff who provide consistency for pupils. This role is ideal for a candidate looking to embed themselves within a school community and support the academic and social journey of Key Stage 1 (KS1) pupils through to the summer holidays.

The Role

  • Provide consistent support within a Year 1 classroom, ensuring a stable and productive learning environment.
  • Deliver daily small group interventions, focusing on early literacy, phonics, and numeracy.
  • Assist the class teacher in monitoring pupil progress and fostering social development.
  • Take a proactive approach to classroom preparation and resource creation.
  • Work 1:1 with specific pupils who require additional emotional or academic scaffolding.
  • Cultivate strong, professional relationships with staff and parents throughout the year.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Learning Support Assistant, specifically within KS1 or Early Years.

  • A firm commitment to stay with this specific class until July 2026.

  • A solid understanding of the Year 1 National Curriculum.

  • A patient, nurturing, and energetic personality.

  • The ability to use your own initiative and work independently.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
