Job Description

Let s be upfront.

And it s not one of those NPD roles where you never leave your desk.

This is a hands-on Development Technologist role supporting an experienced NPD Manager in a chilled food manufacturing environment.

They re open to less experience if the attitude is right - curiosity, organisation, and a genuine passion for food matter more than ticking every box.

The role

You ll support the Development team across the full NPD process, including:

  • Supporting the NPD Manager with day-to-day NPD activity

  • Managing the admin side of the gated NPD process

  • Completing feasibility and compliance checks ahead of weekly meetings

  • Generating nutrition using Nutricalc, reviewing claims and customer policies

  • Preparing customer submissions, tasting packs and documentation

  • Organising and conducting benchmarking activity

  • Carrying out product validation (cook validation, freeze/thaw, shelf life)

  • Supporting factory trials, launches and product sampling

  • Inputting recipes accurately and sourcing raw materials

  • Supporting costings and QAS documentation

This is a multi-faceted, development-focused role, ideal for someone who wants to grow.

About you
  • Food-related degree (or equivalent experience)

  • Passion for food and food manufacturing

  • Some exposure to NPD, development or food manufacturing

  • Knowledge of nutrition and nutritional calculation

  • Commercial awareness and willingness to learn cost-driven development

  • Strong attention to detail and organisation

  • Happy working in a site-based role in a fast-paced factory

What s on offer
  • Salary up to £35,000

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays

  • EV salary sacrifice scheme with on-site charging

  • Strong training, development and progression opportunities

If you want to build a long-term career in food NPD and actually get involved in how products are made, this is worth a conversation.
