Are you an experienced Building Regulations Principal Designer looking for a senior, leadership-focused role in a progressive, value-led consultancy? Based in London, this role gives you the chance to lead and develop the Building Regulations Principal Designer (BR PD) service, supporting the Director in overseeing a high-performing team. You will have responsibility for managing resource allocation, fee proposals, compliance documentation, and coordinating across architecture, building surveying, structural and services engineering disciplines.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, client-facing professional with proven leadership capability and a strong technical understanding of the Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all BR PD projects, coordinating internal resources and reporting to the Director of H&S
  • Oversee project fees, scope, and service quality across the Practice
  • Collate, review, and comment on all Design Risk compliance documentation and maintain BSA compliance registers
  • Coordinate input from internal specialists in architecture, building surveying, structural and building services engineering
  • Prepare Building Regulations conformance statements and assist clients with competence declarations
  • Plan and undertake periodic construction phase inspections as required
  • Monitor and manage design variations impacting Building Regulations compliance
  • Input project documentation into agreed client platforms
Candidate Criteria
  • Proven experience as a Building Regulations Principal Designer, ideally in a leadership or senior associate capacity
  • Strong understanding of the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, and CDM requirements
