We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will hold an AAT qualification, have strong experience using Sage, Xero, and a solid understanding of UK bookkeeping principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments
- Process and manage invoices, bills, and expense tracking
- Carry out bank and supplier reconciliations
- Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports (profit & loss, balance summaries)
- Assist with VAT returns and payroll processing where required
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and UK financial regulations
- Manage workload efficiently and meet reporting deadlines
- Use Sage and Xero as primary accounting platforms
Skills & Qualifications
- AAT qualification (required)
- Strong knowledge of Sage and Xero (required)
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Solid understanding of UK VAT and bookkeeping practices
- Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum 2+ years bookkeeping experience preferred
- Experience in an accountancy practice or multi-client environment is advantageous
