We are delighted to be recruiting a committed and resilient SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEMH provision in Rochdale. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with a clear route to a permanent position following a successful initial 12-week period.
The provision supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, often alongside additional learning or behavioural challenges. The school is looking for a teacher who can offer consistency, structure and high-quality teaching while building strong, trusting relationships in a calm and nurturing environment.
The RoleAs an SEN Teacher, you will:
Deliver engaging, well-differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs
Create a calm, structured and predictable classroom environment
Implement positive behaviour strategies and trauma-informed approaches
Work collaboratively with support staff, senior leaders and external professionals
Support pupils' emotional regulation, confidence and engagement with learning
Contribute to EHCP targets, progress reviews and reporting
We're looking for a teacher who:
Holds QTS, QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Has experience working with pupils with SEMH, behavioural needs or in alternative provision
Is confident managing challenging behaviour using positive and consistent approaches
Brings a calm, patient and resilient mindset
Is committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice
Holds an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential)
A supportive and experienced leadership team with a strong SEN focus
Small class sizes and high staff-to-pupil ratios
Clear routines, systems and behaviour frameworks
