The role encompasses elements of technical programming, and will ultimately involve leading projects of varying complexity and require an experienced project manager with a consistent track record of delivering projects within office, lab, and critical infrastructure environments. Your extensive construction management background will enable you to define and capture technical program requirements, develop statements of work, lead RFP efforts, and drive projects and project teams through architectural design, permitting, construction, and turnover. Strong interpersonal skills are a must. This role will gather feedback from customers across the organization and deliver on project needs within set budget and schedule parameters. This role is an individual contributor and will require you to possess the technical knowledge to challenge assumptions and collaborate with outsourced vendors to facilitate project delivery. The day-to-day Bidding architectural, engineering, and construction services, facilitating bid leveling and objective selection of vendors Leading the planning and building process, completing projects within budget, schedule, quality, & safety objectives Oversight of vendor performance, ensuring ViaSat's project goals are met Assist in developing annual capital budgets and delivering on budget/ schedule targets Direct oversight of project finances and providing regular updates and reporting to management on actual spend vs original budget Facilitating weekly project meetings briefing team members on project status, scheduled work, and action items Obtaining project closeout materials from external vendors, verifying that the facilities document control archive is equipped with up-to-date information Conducting up-front space planning effort for assigned projects, which will be summarized and approved in a formal program summary that outlines project requirements for key customers Gathering detailed technical (equipment lists/ utilities) program requirements for new or modified space, engaging all the appropriate team members (business lead, real estate, security, IT, EHS, etc.) Internal and external research and data collection to support strategic real estate and planning initiatives Periodically revisit original program requirements during design and construction to confirm the project is adhering to the approved requirements Support space planning functions including seat assignments, employee moves, test fits, growth forecasting and data analysis Collaborate with the real estate team during property selection to compile tour packages, visit site locations, provide test fits, capital estimates, and assist in the completion of a scoring matrix to rank prospective sites What you'll need Strong background experience in project management with oversight of design, engineering, construction, and commissioning vendors Experience in a variety of project types including commercial office, lab and major infrastructure upgrades Familiarity with List-X design and construction, as well as other government security classifications (UK, US, and Australia) Deep understanding of construction drawings, building specifications, contract methodology, and technical systems/ trades (MEPF) Understanding of commercial design principles and space planning guidelines Strong work ethic with a positive demeanor Confidence to speak with leaders, present issues clearly, and lead effective presentations Excellent communication, collaboration, writing and reporting skills Proficiency using Microsoft Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, VergeSense, ProLease, CoStar, MRI.
