Job Overview A leading consultancy is seeking a Senior Sustainability Consultant to join its team in Cardiff or Bristol. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful sustainability work across a wide range of sectors and projects. The successful candidate will join a national sustainability group known for its innovative, practical, and forward-thinking approach to sustainable development in the built environment. The team works across all phases of design and construction, delivering strategies that enhance environmental performance and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities Develop holistic sustainability strategies for building and infrastructure projects. Lead environmental and wellbeing assessments such as BREEAM, WELL, HQM, and similar frameworks. Deliver technical modelling and assessments, including: Energy modelling using IES VE Embodied and whole life carbon assessments using One Click LCA Circular economy evaluations Building performance simulations (operational energy, overheating, etc.) Advise clients on energy and sustainability strategies for both new and existing developments. Mentor junior consultants on project delivery, technical skills, and planning. Contribute to research and innovation initiatives within the technical team. Engage in industry research, author guidance documents, and support thought leadership efforts. Candidate Profile Ideal candidates will have experience and knowledge in several of the following areas: Energy modelling experience using IES VE , and other building performance tools (e.g., ApacheHVAC, Part L compliance, NABERS, Passivhaus) Environmental certification schemes (e.g., BREEAM, WELL, Fitwel) Preparation of sustainability-related planning documents (e.g., energy strategies, sustainability statements, whole life carbon assessments) Environmental Impact Assessments with a focus on climate resilience and carbon emissions Whole life carbon and embodied carbon experience using One Click LCA Net zero carbon strategies and circular economy consulting Relevant experience in the built environment sector, preferably in sustainability or engineering consultancy Degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field This opportunity offers a generous package and extensive benefits.
