Forklift Driver - Civils Site (Long-Term) Location: Bideford, Devon Starting- ASAP Long term role Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Forklift Driver to support a long-term civil engineering project in the Bideford area. The role involves operating a forklift to move, load, and distribute materials across a busy civils site, along with general site-support duties when required. Safety, reliability, and good communication with site teams are essential. Key Duties & Responsibilities Forklift Operations Safely operate a forklift (or other site-appropriate lift truck) to move materials, equipment, and pallets around the site. Load and unload deliveries from lorries and transport vehicles. Move materials between lay-down areas, work zones, and storage areas. Assist with placing materials for groundworkers, formwork crews, concrete teams, drainage teams, and other civils trades. Site & Material Handling Maintain tidy and organised material storage areas. Support manual handling and movement of smaller items when forklift use is not required. Assist in setting up site equipment, barriers, fencing, and temporary works materials. Liaise with site managers, supervisors, and logistics personnel to ensure materials are delivered to the correct areas on time. Safety & Compliance Carry out daily safety checks on the forklift and report defects. Follow all site health & safety rules , traffic-management plans, and exclusion zones. Use correct PPE at all times. Ensure safe lifting, stacking, and handling procedures. General Site Support Assist groundworkers and labourers during quieter forklift periods. Help unload deliveries manually where needed. Keep work areas, pathways, and loading zones clean and hazard-free. Skills, Experience & Qualifications Essential Valid Forklift licence Prior experience on a civils, construction, or infrastructure site . Strong awareness of site safety and safe-lifting practices. Ability to work in outdoor, uneven, and changing site conditions. Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple trades. Desirable NPORS or CPCS card for additional plant (telehandler, dumper, roller, etc.). CSCS card. Typical Working Conditions Long-term project Monday-Friday, with potential for weekend or overtime during busy periods. Ideal Candidate Profile Reliable and punctual. Groundworkers Wanted North West A leading Civil Engineering, Groundworks, and Specialist Drainage contractor is expanding its team and looking for skilled Groundworkers to support a range of projects across the North West. The Role: We are seeking experienced operatives in: Kerbing laying new kerbs, removing/realigning existing kerbs with new back and bedding. Flagging particularly in the Sefton area, lifting and relaying flags to existing levels. Tarmacking (Rake Hand) planing off defective tarmac and reinstating surface courses. General Groundworks across multiple disciplines. Typical Works Include: Resetting service boxes (BT, Gas, Water) Resetting gully frames and manhole lids Breaking out and reinstating defective kerbing/edging (including PCC installs) Tarmac planing and patching prior to kerbing remedials Plot and main sewer remedials Ducting works (street lighting, signals, illuminated signage) Customer care works (block paving, flagging, tarmacking, manhole works) Use of stihl saws, whacker plates, breakers, and similar tools What We re Looking For: CPCS/NPORS-compliant machine operatives (excavator, roller, dumper) CSCS card and relevant trade qualifications Experience in manhole remedials to Sewers NRSWA accreditation (for S278 works) Strong general groundworks knowledge Future Opportunities: Gangs with proven experience in dig downs on mains sewers and a solid understanding of Roads and Sewers (R&S) will also be required for upcoming projects. Morson Vital are looking for multiple full-time Clean Water Gangs in Leicester and the East Midlands. This is long-term works, estimated for the next 4 years across the Midlands. Monday to Friday working 08:00-17:00, plus weekends 08:00-16:00 if desired. Induction and training provided. We are looking for 30 people to attend customer properties around the Leicester & East Midlands area to install or replace water meters within the boundary box, and 6 people to form a reinstatement gang. Starts available in January, February and March. These roles involve travel across the Midlands, however vans provided. Our Civils Construction client require 2 x Groundworkers for ongoing work across a number of sites form monday 5 January 2026. This may go on long term depending on business requirements. You will ideally be based around Kirkcaldy/Dunfermline area as the client is based here so vans will leave to go to sites daily. You must have proven all round groundworks experience and a valid CSCS card. Experience driving a Dumper and/or Roller machine is preferred. A full driving license is required as you will either be taken to site or given a van for transport. Full-time Monday - Friday and a rate of approx 20ph.
