My client, a market leading Sustainability Consultancy who specialise in sustainable and Eco-friendly builds, is searching for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Leamington Spa. You will be required to work from the office on a hybrid basis, 4 days a week. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will join an experienced team to complete HVAC designs for residential, commercial, retail, colleges, storage units, museums and healthcare facilities. As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will be expected to complete detailed mechanical designs including heating, ventilation, domestic hot and cold water systems and air-conditioning using AutoCAD and Revit. You will also be expected to complete 2D and 3D models, perform heat load calculations, thermal comfort modelling (TM52/TM59), IES energy modelling and digital twin simulation, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and equipment selection using relevant software (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD, HAP, or Elite). You will also prepare and review mechanical drawings, schematics, simulations and technical specifications in accordance with building codes, sustainability goals, and project requirements. Site visits will also be necessary, across the local area to check design clashes. The role will also involve; -Heating and cooling load assessments. -Designing to BIM level 2 in accordance with British Standards PAS 1192-5. -Low-carbon system design (ASHPs, GSHPs, WSHPs, VRF/VRV) -Mechanical ventilation & heat recovery (MVHR) -Building Management System (BMS) integration - Attend internal external meetings with Clients and Contractors on site to resolve design issues/queries and align project objectives. -Review designs submitted by the team and respond to RFIs (Requests for Information). -Site visits to monitor installation quality, verify compliance with original designs and highlight issues during construction. -Liaise with design teams, architectural teams and site engineers to ensure designs are installed to specifications and client requirements. -Client meetings to discuss design briefs and project progress. -Evaluate new materials and designs ensuring energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The business specialises in full M&E installations and service works, covering London with occasional visits further afield. The company works on high-spec commercial projects, including pharmaceutical and medical laboratories, offices, retail, and industrial sites. This role offers hands-on experience with a variety of HVAC systems, including split, multi-split, and VRF systems, as well as MVHR, AHUs, and cold room installations. Both single-skilled and multi-skilled engineers are sought, with multi-skilled engineers undertaking additional responsibilities in electrical, gas, or refrigeration works.
