Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant

Our client, a highly respected educational institution in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join their team as a Full-time Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the development of young minds and fostering a love for sports and physical activity.

The primary responsibilities of the Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant will include planning and delivering engaging sports lessons and activities, working closely with teachers to support classroom learning, and providing individualised attention to students when needed. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for sports and education, along with the ability to inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential.

Our client offers a competitive salary range of £450 - £600 per week, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is full-time, providing the successful candidate with a stable and rewarding career opportunity.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

• Plan and deliver high-quality sports lessons and activities that align with the school's curriculum and objectives
• Assist teachers in the classroom, providing support to students and contributing to a positive learning environment
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents
• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that all students feel valued and respected
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and stay current with best practices in sports education and teaching assistance

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

• A relevant degree or professional qualification in sports, education, or a related field
• Previous experience working with children or young adults in a sports coaching or educational setting
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
• A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and needs
• A valid DBS check and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
