HGV Class 1 Driver
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Birmingham, West Midlands.

Shifts
Monday to Friday - 08:00 starts
Rates of Pay

Basic: £17.00 per hour
-
Saturday: £17.00 per hour for the first 4 hours, then £21.65 per hour thereafter

Day-to-Day Duties
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
-
Completing multi-drop deliveries and collections around Birmingham and surrounding areas

Operating and driving Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently
-
Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks
-
Ensuring timely, safe, and professional deliveries to customer sites
-
Using curtain-side trailers
-
Adhering to all driving and working time regulations
-
Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
-
Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
-
Keeping the vehicle and equipment clean and tidy at all times
Essential Skills
To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:
-
A valid UK Category CE Licence
-
A minimum of 2 years' experience driving Category CE vehicles

No more than 6 penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)

A valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
-
Good written and spoken English
-
Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
-
A solid understanding of driving and working time regulations
-
Strong communication and customer service skills
Desirable Experience
-
Previous commercial driving experience
-
Previous multi-drop delivery experience
Training Provided
Ongoing CPC training and full support provided throughout your assignment.
