If so, then this is an exciting time to join Bridgend CBC as we continue to remodel the way we meet the needs of children and young people who need our support. We continue to expand our provision with an addition of a new service.
The homes provide placements of varying lengths to children/young people in the age range 6 to 18 years (at the time of admission) who for various reasons cannot live with their own immediate or extended family.

As a Senior Children's Residential Worker in Bridgend whilst you will be based in one service, at times you may be required to work across a range of services supporting young people and the residential service as a whole. You will be suitably qualified in line with the qualification framework as well as having substantial experience working in children's residential care and have suitable experience detailing this. As senior you will be responsible for organising and running shift, attending meetings, writing reports, health and safety, supporting key working, petty cash, medication, supervising staff and ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
The successful applicant will form part of the management team at the service and be an integral part in our delivery of care and support. The successful applicant will be committed to their own personal professional development but also committed to improving and the development of the workforce under your charge. The role requires the candidate to be level 3 qualified in health and social (CYP), and if they do not already possess the level 4 (in preparing for leadership and management) and or level 5 qualification (leadership and management in HSC: Practice), a willingness to work towards these. We are committed to improving and developing workers, facilitating their own progression and continuous professional development.

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.

An Enhanced Children and Adults Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
