Role Overview

The Skilled Fine Limit Sheet Metal Worker will be responsible for producing high-precision fabricated components using traditional, advanced, and specialist metalworking techniques. The successful candidate will work from drawings and specifications to fabricate, form, bend, assemble and finish aerospace-grade sheet metal products, often to extremely tight tolerances.

This role requires significant experience in both light and fine-limit fabrication, including working with exotic materials, prototype panels and complex geometries.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out bending, cutting, pressing, riveting, marking out, measuring, assembly, stretch forming, deburring and inspection to tight tolerances on aluminium, stainless steel, titanium and Inconel.
  • Work to detailed engineering drawings, sketches and verbal instructions.
  • Set and operate machinery including fly press, brake press, linisher and other metal-forming equipment.
  • Ensure all tools, jigs and fixtures are up to date, maintained and compliant.
  • Hand-form prototype panels and components using fine-limit techniques.
  • Execute deburring, drilling, trimming, filing, grinding and other finishing operations.
  • Work to aerospace quality standards and industry specifications.
  • Ensure components are produced to drawing requirements and customer specification.
  • Assist in the integration of fabricated components with machined parts.


Requirements Experience

  • Extensive experience in precision sheet metal fabrication and fine-limit engineering.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal processes, fabrication methods and assembly techniques.
  • Proven experience working in the aerospace or defence sector.
  • Skilled in hand-forming techniques and shaping complex geometries.
  • Experience working with exotic metals i
  • ncluding titanium and Inconel.
  • Competent in integrating fabricated assemblies with machined components.
