We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Principal Electronics Engineer for our HQ in Wolverhampton. In this position you will be responsible for the application of electronic system skills within a multi-functional engineering team to support new business acquisition, new product introduction (NPI), new technology development, continuity of production and root-cause failure investigation. For NPI you will be key in supporting the creation, development, and analysis for new circuit solutions for products that contain electronic control for electric motor actuation systems for use in demanding aerospace environments. The successful candidate will have strong Electronic Design experience in a Manufacturing environment, have good interpersonal skills & have NPI experience. Detailed design, build, test and analysis of electronic circuits for new products, with full regard to available technology, in-service reliability, cost and schedule. Architectural design of electronic products. Application of Common Circuit Blocks (CCBs) to new products, in line with Actuation Systems Electronics Strategy. Generate electronics design definition documentation to describe the design solution and the rationale behind it. Generate test plans to support system integration and verification. Conceptual design of electronics solutions for bids and proposals. Support to test equipment specification, procurement and validation. Review and assess electronics data from suppliers, e.g., proposals and test reports. Generate electronics sub-system specifications. Presentations - written and verbal - to internal and external customers. Be part of a multifunctional integrated product team (IPT), which is responsible for delivering a project. Contribute to the development of Standard Work in electronics and the sharing of best practice within the Actuation team. Essential skills: Degree in Electronic Engineering or related discipline or demonstrable experience, preferably in aerospace. Experience in Engineering or a similar safety critical industry would be acceptable Excellent Electronic Engineering hardware design skills, with ability in complex analysis Proven problem Solving ability Desirable skills: Familiarity with electronic control of brushless DC motors is desirable. Familiarity with Power electronics/power supply design. Undertake tasks with minimum supervision or guidance. Familiarity with industry best practices including EMC. Good verbal and written communication skills, in English. Self-motivated, with a proactive approach, team spirit, high energy level and a positive outlook.
