This role will focus on a number of key areas in the Delegated space including but not limited to; Operations, People & Culture, Client Management, Governance, Compliance, Sales, Strategic & Financial Management and more. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Oversee the implementation of Board-approved strategies and manage day-to-day business and administrative operations. Translate strategic business plans into clear operational objectives, monitoring performance against agreed KPIs and budgets. Evaluate and optimise internal and external processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and service quality. Provide data-driven insights and analysis to inform strategic decision-making and continuous performance improvement. People and Culture Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring effective workforce planning, succession planning, and ongoing professional development. Deliver and oversee the training and competence framework to ensure employees meet regulatory, technical, and performance standards. Manage recruitment and retention strategies to attract top talent while fostering a collaborative, innovative, and accountable culture aligned with organisational values. Commercial and Client Management Oversee the delivery of high-quality services to clients, partners, and capacity providers, maintaining strong relationships with brokers, underwriters, and key stakeholders. Review and maintain service pricing structures to ensure competitiveness while effectively managing cost and risk exposure. Support business development initiatives by identifying growth opportunities, leveraging strategic relationships, and clearly articulating the organisation's value proposition to prospective clients and partners. Represent the organisation at relevant industry forums and events to strengthen brand presence and market reputation. Governance, Compliance and Risk Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, senior management obligations, consumer protection standards, and relevant governance frameworks. Maintain effective systems, controls, and record-keeping processes to support operational integrity and regulatory oversight. Uphold internal policies, procedures, and defined risk tolerances, ensuring appropriate controls and risk management frameworks are embedded. Strategic and Financial Management Collaborate with the Board to develop and execute strategic and operational plans that drive growth, profitability, and sound risk management. Oversee financial and operational reporting, ensuring accurate monitoring of performance, costs, margins, and productivity. About the Role This is a legal counsel role in the Corporate Solutions Credit & Surety legal team. We are a small, global legal team providing dedicated transactional, regulatory and legal support to the Credit & Surety business unit which underwrites insurance in areas such as trade finance, project & infrastructure finance, commodity finance, political risk insurance and surety. We are prioritizing candidates with proven experience (in-house/private practice) in one of the following areas: Credit insurance (including applicable documentation, insurance regulation, and underwriting market standards), alternatively other areas/lines of (re)insurance including advisory or contentious experience relevant to primary insurance or reinsurance; Surety bonds/guarantees; Banking/finance, particularly in the areas of structured finance, securitizations and/or portfolio transfers or significant risk transfers. Experience of working in funded and unfunded regulatory capital relief deals is advantageous. Responsibilities In this role you will: >Provide global legal advice and support for transactions primarily in the following areas: bank trade finance & infrastructure, surety, structured finance, credit and political risk insurance and significant risk transfers.
