Sr. Manager, Corporate Counsel, Labor & Employment (EMEA)
Your role
Labor & Employment
- Provide day-to-day advice and counseling on a diverse array of employment issues arising primarily from EMEA and APAC, working in coordination with other members of the Labor & Employment Legal Team members and closely with HR and other internal teams to assist with employment issues, including: Drafting, negotiating, and interpreting employment agreements and separation agreements;
- Advising on and assisting in the implementation of HR policies;
- Drafting, negotiating, and interpreting benefits and compensation programs and plans;
- Advising on labor issues and disputes as well as sensitive employee relations matters;
- Providing employment law support for M&A matters; and assisting the compliance team with HR-related investigations and compliance matters.
Litigation & Dispute Resolution
- Manage all aspects of dispute resolution primarily related to EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) and APAC (Asia-Pacific) regions in coordination with a global legal team, including: Advising and coordinating with internal clients (commercial, design and construction, HR, procurement, IT, and other teams) on litigation and business resolution strategies;
- Managing pre-litigation processes, including document holds, discovery/disclosure, and engagement of outside counsel;
- Reviewing filings, correspondence, and other materials, as appropriate;
- Consulting on trial and/or settlement strategies; and Collaborating with and managing outside counsel.
General
- Manage outside counsel effectively and efficiently.
- Support the continuous improvement of standard forms and the development and improvement of policies and procedures for the Legal Department.
- Execute assigned projects as determined by needs of the Legal Department.
What youll need
- Qualified lawyer in one or more EMEA jurisdiction where we operate, preferably the Netherlands, UK, Germany, or France.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of post-qualification litigation and employment counseling experience, including a combination of internationally recognized law firm and/or in-house experience.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent drafting, negotiating, writing, speaking, and analytical skills.
- Must be able to work with sensitive matters and respect confidentiality procedures.
- Ability to identify and research legal risks and issues, and effectively counsel clients.
- Flexible team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills written and verbal.
- Self-motivated, independent, and able to handle and prioritize time-sensitive projects.
- Ability to develop and implement processes for Legal Department.
- Must be able to come into the office as required. Currently we work on a 2-3 day in office hybrid schedule.
