We're seeking to recruit a Section Engineer to join our Portal Buildings team in the Greatworth to Southam Area. The Section Engineer manages junior engineers and assists the Sub Agent in construction operations. You will be required to report to the Sub Agent and supervise the site engineering team from construction to close out. Tasked with developing and implementing continuous improvement strategies in both manufacturing and company processes, you will collaborate with the engineering team to perform DMAIC activities to eliminate inefficiencies across the business and provide technical guidance to enhance production quality and efficiency. Responsible for monitoring and analysing KPI's to identify areas for improvement and taking corrective action where needed, you will drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives to optimise operations whilst fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the manufacturing team. Able to establish effective relationships with shift supervisors or process implementers to assess needs and objectives, you will provide direction to the manufacturing team, instilling best practice and lean principles with the ability to train and mentor colleagues in SOP's and new ways of working running kaizen events whilst ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations at all times. Other duties for the varied and challenging Process Improvement Engineer position will include (but not be limited to) managing projects through to implementation, delivering on time and within budget, improving factory floor layouts and optimising workflow and operator movement, and liaising with the Engineering team with specification procurement and the implementation of new plant & equipment, as well as re-visiting implemented changes to ensure results are sustained. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have at least 5 years proven experience gained within a dedicated process improvement manufacturing environment and essentially skilled and qualified in various lean manufacturing processes and methodologies (Six Sigma, 5S, PDCA, Kaizen, Kanban etc), realistically qualified to HND level (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline with experience of AutoCad and the MS suite of products. We are currently recruiting for a EC&I Department Head on behalf of our sister company TUV Rheinland Industrial Services (TRIS). The suitable person must be a graduate Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer, chartered with a minimumof 10 years experience. Key Responsibilities: Prepare scopes of work and estimates to support proposals. Assist in preparing project documents including scopes, schedules and reports. Deliver the EC&I engineering design scope to budgets and programmes. Co-ordinate/liaise with EC&I and other Engineering disciplines/client/package vendors. Design authority for all EC&I Prepare, check and/or approve design calculations, specifications, data sheets, reports, scope of work and drawings to British/International Standards and Codes of Practice. Design, develop, review and approve electrical and controls (IEC) engineering drawings, specifications and documents in line with national and international standards. Conduct electrical design calculations and approve calculations conducted by others including earthing, cable sizing, Short Circuit Calculation, Cantilever strength calculation, Battery Sizing calculations, voltage drop, lighting levels, cable tray fill and heat tracing etc. Prepare and review data-sheetsand/or procurement packages for electrical equipment. Preparation of key engineering design documents including SLDs, Schematic Diagrams, Cable Schedules and Layout Plans. Liaise with vendors, select and oversee purchase of EC&I equipment & components. Monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and client standards. Provide specialist design input to 3D models. Prepare Technical Analysis of proposals provided by equipment manufacturers and contractors. Interpret vendor and other discipline drawings/information. Attend and participate in safety reviews, risk reviews, planning reviews, model reviews and constructability reviews. Manage conflicting priorities among simultaneous projects. Identify and raise scope changes. Comply with Company Quality Manager Systems. Other professional duties as reasonably required. Key skillsrequired include: Background in Heavy Engineering/Chemical/Petrochemical/Oil & Gas Industries preferred. Minimum of 10 years of EC&I experience, preferably in oil & gas, chemicals and/or other high hazard process industries. Appropriate Technical Engineering Degree and preferably a Chartered Engineer with an appropriate institution. Knowledge of regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Ability to allocate work appropriately to design staff and monitor progress to meet project needs. Ability to work in both design office and operating plant environments. Comfortable dealing directly with both Clients and Vendors at all levels. Knowledge of ATEX and equipment for electrically hazardous areas. Knowledge or experience of Functional Safety, preferably holding a suitable Functional Safety qualification. Expertise using MS office suite and knowledge of AutoCAD. Experience in the use of AVEVA E3D. Experience in the design of HV and LV Power distribution systems, LHV/LV Switchgear Panels and MCCs. Experience in Relay Coordination, Load Flow, Short Circuit and Motor start studies. Exposure to IEC, IEEE, IS, CBIP & ANSI Standards. Proficiency in AUTOCAD, DIALUX, CG LUX Software.
