Role Overview - CNC Machinist (Mill-Turn)

We are recruiting for a leading manufacturer of high-precision, complex mechanical components in the aerospace sector. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced, apprentice-trained CNC Machinist (Mill-Turn/Turner) to join their skilled manufacturing team on a permanent basis working on a double day shift.

Key Responsibilities - CNC Machinist (Mill-Turn)

  • Set and operate CNC turning and mill-turn machinery
  • Produce complex, high-precision components from a variety of aerospace-grade materials to extremely tight tolerances
  • Full setting responsibilities, including tooling, fixtures and program adjustment/proving
  • Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment
  • Complete all necessary quality documentation and maintain full traceability
  • Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives on the shop floor

Key Experience & Qualifications - CNC Machinist (Mill-Turn)

  • Minimum 3 years' proven experience as a CNC Turner/Mill-Turn machinist
  • Completed apprenticeship or relevant technical qualification (highly desirable)
  • Strong background in precision engineering; aerospace or similar high-specification industry experience strongly preferred
  • Confident editing and proving programs at the machine control
  • Excellent drawing interpretation and geometric tolerancing skills
  • High attention to detail and a consistent right-first-time approach
