Geotechnical Engineer - Permanent Role UK-Based

The Opportunity Due to continued growth and an expanding portfolio of exciting new work, we're seeking a Geotechnical Engineer with at least 2 years of experience, ideally within the rail or infrastructure sector.
You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions across the rail, transportation, energy, and heavy civil engineering sectors, working alongside talented professionals in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Carry out preliminary and detailed geotechnical designs, including foundation, drainage, earthworks, and structural analysis.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest industry standards.
  • Work closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, innovative, and compliant engineering solutions.
  • Contribute to fee proposals and tenders, supporting project management on scope, budget, and delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and graduate engineers, helping to develop the next generation of engineering talent.
About You
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ICE or IStructE accredited, 2:1 or higher).
  • At least 2 years of professional experience, ideally within rail or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical design tools (e.g., PLAXIS) and foundation/earthworks design.
  • Motivated to work towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status (IEng/CEng).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, hands-on approach.
