The Position
The Commercial Sales and Retail Executive plays a dual role across Premium Sales and Retail Operations. This position is responsible for selling Premium Packages, Memberships, Group Sales, Debentures, and Hospitality year round, while also delivering retail customer service and fulfilment two days per week.
Working closely with both the Retail Operations Manager and the Premium Sales team, the postholder will support administrative processes, online shop operations, ticketing distribution, and matchday fulfilment. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a confident, consultative sales approach.
What you'll do Premium & Commercial Sales
- Proactively sell Premium, Ticket+, and Group packages for all Domestic & International Cricket at the Kia Oval.
- Maintain the SCCC booking process and ensure accurate fulfilment ahead of matchdays, including ownership of the Matchday Matrix.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with clients and members.
- Drive new business through proactive outreach and reactively respond to inbound sales opportunities.
- Record all sales activity on Salesforce, maintaining an accurate and up to date pipeline.
- Ensure all ticketing data is correctly entered into Secutix.
- Personally develop new and existing business relationships.
- Support matchday operations, ensuring Premium areas are prepared and delivered as sold.
- Conduct client visits on matchdays and manage pre and post event communication.
- Assist with Premium General Admission and Season Ticket setup on Secutix.
- Take full ownership of Ticket+ setup and matchday delivery.
- Support marketing activity linked to Premium, Hospitality, and Retail products.
Retail Operations (2 days per week)
- Deliver exceptional customer service across online and in venue retail channels.
- Assist with fulfilment, packaging, stock movement, and customer enquiries.
- Carry out administrative duties including emails, calls, and online shop management.
- Support product development through market research with the Retail Manager and Head of Merchandising.
- Enhance the online purchasing experience, helping reduce returns and customer complaints.
- Maintain excellent product knowledge across the full retail range.
- Deputise for the Operations Manager on matchdays when required.
Matchday Operations
- Lead the distribution of the Matrix across all formats, communicating changes to the Head of Hospitality Operations and Hospitality Sales Manager.
- Collate all guest information and ensure accurate storage in Salesforce.
- Assist with accreditation for partner agencies.
- Ensure all bookings not sold by the Hospitality Sales team are uploaded to Salesforce.
- Support the distribution of hospitality tickets to partner agencies.
- Assist with all client ticketing across all formats.
Customer Experience & Brand Standards
- Maintain outstanding levels of customer service across all retail and Premium touchpoints.
- Champion the Kia Oval brand, ensuring a consistent and high quality customer experience.
- Resolve escalated issues quickly, professionally, and with sound judgement.
- Work with Marketing and Merchandising teams on promotions, campaigns, and product launch activity.
The Person
The successful candidate will have the following experience / skills / qualities:
Essential:
- Experience in a customer service role, ideally within sport, leisure, or large scale events.
- Experience of outbound sales via phone & managing high volume call lists.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and matchdays.
Desirable:
- Strong commercial awareness and experience working towards KPIs.
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills, with a high attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and problem solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
Salary and Benefits
£28,808 + commission
5% Club Bonus Scheme
23 days holiday increasing to 28 days based on length of service
