Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer/ Bury St Edmunds / Salary £52,000Please note:Applicants must be local residents to be considered for this role.

Position 1 Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our clients team. This role is ideal for a proactive engineer with strong experience working on industrial machinery.

Shift:

Full-time, Panama shift (6am6pm, days & nights)

Salary:

Up to £55,000+ 5% performance bonus after 6 months

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical production equipment

• Work with conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical drives, bearings, gearboxes, and general machinery

• Assist with new equipment installation and commissioning

• Keep accurate maintenance records

• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives

• Follow Health & Safety procedures and remain flexible for on-call duties

Requirements:

• Qualified in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

• Strong background in heavy industrial mechanical maintenance

• Expertise with:

  • Conveyors

  • Pneumatics

  • Hydraulics

  • Mechanical systems and assemblies

• Knowledge of Health & Safety protocols including Lock Out/Tag Out, Safe Isolation, Working at Height, Permit to Work, Confined Space, ATEX/DSEAR
