We are looking for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join a supportive, multidisciplinary team in a specialist educational setting for young people aged 1118. The role focuses on delivering targeted therapy, completing assessments, and supporting communication development across the school.
Youll work closely with teachers, SEN teams and pastoral staff to integrate communication strategies into daily routines, helping students build confidence, independence and functional language skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a developing clinician who wants to grow within a structured and collaborative environment.
Key responsibilitiesDeliver 1:1 and group therapy sessions for students with a range of speech, language and communication needs
Plan and review therapy programmes using evidence-based practice
Complete assessments and prepare clear, high-quality clinical reports
Set communication targets for pupils and monitor progress
Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to embed communication strategies across the curriculum
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to annual reviews
Support safeguarding and wider school responsibilities where required
Supervise assistants or students when appropriate
HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist
Experience working with children or young people with SEN/SpLD
Confident delivering assessment and therapy across a varied caseload
Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills
Understanding of safeguarding and the needs of neurodiverse learners
School experience is desirable but not essential
Salary equivalent to Band 6 (£38,682 £48,000)
