What you'll be doing: Provide technical leadership and expertise on rail systems engineering, predominately control, command, signalling and communications (CCS&C) Lead and contribute to research and innovation projects, standards development, and industry guidance on CCS&C topics, such as conventional signalling, digital signalling, cyber security, and interoperability Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including rail operators, infrastructure managers, suppliers, regulators, and academia, to understand their needs and expectations, and to influence and promote best practice in (CCS&C) engineering Work as part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers, analysts, and specialists, and collaborate with external partners and experts, to deliver high-quality outputs that support RSSB's vision and mission What we're looking for: A degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, and a professional qualification (e.g. CEng, IEng, CITP) or equivalent experience Extensive knowledge and experience in (CCS&C) engineering, and a track record of delivering successful projects and outcomes Effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing Analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to apply systems thinking and innovation to (CCS&C) challenges and opportunities A passion for rail safety and standards, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development Why Join RSSB?
