Working independently and as part of a team. Carry out any other duties as required and deemed appropriate. The Candidate: Skilled in setting and operating CNC Lathes and tooling as well as using precision measurement equipment. Programming at the control experience and G Code Knowledge essential. Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings Computer savvy with excellent understanding of CNC programs Mechanical aptitude and good math skills A keen eye for detail and good communication abilities. Roles and Responsibilities The role holder will: Be responsible for the smooth running of the shop floor ensuring that detailed production plans are followed meticulously and that products flow through the department accordingly. Be responsible for setting 3-axis Vertical Machining Centre (VMC's) with the option to bolt on a 4th axis or 4th and 5th axis rotary table. Be responsible for quality control of work employing a range of inspection equipment to check parts against engineering drawings. Be responsible for the setting of 3 and 5-axis machines to run low-volume production jobs. Be responsible for the setting of 3 and 5-axis machines to run one-off prototype parts for both in-house and custom customer requirements. Be responsible for providing feedback to programmers on new or existing programmes to refine the manufacturing process. Work with a variety of materials including aluminium, steel, plastics, epoxy tool boards and carbon fibre. Be responsible for the cutting and preparing of materials. Be responsible for deburring and manually finishing parts where required. Ensure that machinery is fully operable at all times carrying out inspection and preventive maintenance where required. Assist TECNIQ's in-house training programme training apprentices and other team members where required. Skills Required The role holder will: Possess a good understanding of HAAS and FANUC operating systems to enable the setting of tools, work offsets and adjust tool offsets where required. Ensure all production is of the finest quality, conducting necessary checks along the way. Be an effective and motivated team player, able to work both closely with others and in a self-guided capacity. Possess a flexible approach, able to adapt to changing requirements at short notice. Have good literacy and numeracy skills including the ability to read engineering drawings and follow detailed set-up documentation. Remain calm under pressure.
