Pay: 22 per hour +
Role Type: Field Service
Equipment: Dumpers, diggers, telehandlers, excavators
We're looking for a Plant Fitter who's ready to roam the Midlands in a service van stocked with tools, three sizes of hammers, and that one part you've been carrying around for months "just in case."
A typical day may include:
Turning up to site and discovering the machine is nowhere near where they said
Diagnosing faults described as "it makes a noise, you'll hear it when it does it"
Explaining that telehandlers do, in fact, need servicing before they break
Replacing hoses that look older than the site itself
Repairing kit while the operator insists "it was working perfectly yesterday"
Experience working on dumpers, diggers, telehandlers, and excavators
Strong hydraulic fault-finding abilities (and an even stronger stomach)
Tools that haven't all mysteriously disappeared
Willingness to work outdoors in conditions described as "character building"
Ability to retrieve dropped bolts from the only puddle on site
22 p/h+
A service van with a rattle no engineer before you has ever solved
PPE provided (the good gloves are subject to availability)
Freedom to mutter "who fitted this last?" at least twice a day
The joy of resurrecting machinery that absolutely should have been greased
