Job Title: Assistant Headteacher New Independent Special School (Autism & SEMH)

Location: Stanton-on-the-Wolds, Nottinghamshire
Salary: £45,000 £53,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, permanent

The School

Opening in April 2026, our new independent special school, Lynwood School, will offer a specialist and nurturing education for up to 25 students with Autism and SEMH needs. Our ethos is centred on small classes, personalised learning, and a therapeutic approach that helps young people flourish.

The Role

As Assistant Headteacher, you will:

  • Work in partnership with the Headteacher to lead the school through its opening and beyond.
  • Drive excellence in teaching, learning, and curriculum delivery.
  • Take a lead role in safeguarding, behaviour, and wellbeing.
  • Mentor and support staff to ensure high standards across the school.
  • Build positive relationships with families and the wider community.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who is:

  • An experienced teacher and school leader (SEN experience essential).
  • Skilled in Autism and SEMH provision.
  • Organised, compassionate, and committed to inclusion.
  • Ready to contribute to building a brand-new school culture.
