Technical Superintendent - SC cleared

Are you an experienced security cleared Senior Mechanical Engineer or Technical Superintendent looking for a challenging role within the maritime environment? Our client, a leading organisation in Defence and Maritime sectors, is seeking a SC cleared Technical Superintendent to join their team based in Bristol, with the flexibility of hybrid working.

This role offers a unique opportunity to support critical safety and certification maintenance on Royal Navy ships, with travel across the UK and abroad. • Provide Technical Superintendent support during key safety and certification periods on Royal Navy vessels.
• Lead and deliver mechanical or mechatronic outcomes across various projects.
• Utilise your broad engineering knowledge at the waterfront, exercising sound judgement to progress work efficiently.
• Navigate regulation, legislation, certification, and Class Society Rules applicable to the maritime environment.
• Support foreign and UK-based travel requirements.

• Experience across multiple engineering disciplines with a practical, waterfront focus.
• Understanding of maritime regulation, certification, legislation, and Class Society Rules.
• Relevant Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics qualification at RQF Level 4 or higher.
• Proven track record in advising and leading successful mechanical or mechatronic projects.
• Professional registration as an IEng, CEng, RSci, CSci, IMarEng, or CMarEng.

Location: Bristol, with hybrid working (3 days onsite per week), plus travel as required.

Duration: ASAP until 31 March 2026, with scope for extension.

Day Rate: £450 - £570 per day (inside IR35).
