ASAP Start - Full-Time Position

A forward-thinking and inclusive SEN school in Reading is looking for a Mental Health Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of mental health and developmental needs. This long-term role is ideal for graduates in Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, Education, or those eager to build experience in therapeutic and mental health-based education.

You will support pupils with Autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and social-emotional difficulties, helping them develop confidence, emotional regulation skills, and positive relationships in a safe and structured environment.

Key Details:

  • Role: Mental Health Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Reading
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • Salary: £89-£100 per day

Mental Health Teaching Assistant responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering 1:1 and small group emotional support
    Encouraging positive engagement and participation in learning
    Assisting with behaviour and emotional regulation
    Implementing wellbeing strategies and therapeutic approaches
    Collaborating with Teachers, Therapists, and Mental Health Leads
