We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of secondary schools in the Chesterfield area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to gain school-based experience, develop classroom skills, or take their first step into a career in education.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Support students with their learning where appropriate.
- Work flexibly across different subjects and year groups.
Requirements
We are looking for individuals who:
- Have strong communication and organisational skills.
- Are confident managing groups of young people.
- Are reliable, punctual, and able to adapt quickly to new environments.
- Hold a minimum of GCSEs (A C) in English and Maths or equivalent.
- Have previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential).
- Are eligible to work in the UK.
Expectations
Successful candidates will:
- Be available for short-notice bookings as well as planned cover.
- Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards at all times.
- Follow school behaviour policies and demonstrate professional conduct.
- Engage positively with staff and students, contributing to the school community.
- Attend any required training or induction sessions.
Safeguarding & Compliance
All applicants must: Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
Provide two recent, relevant references. C
omplete necessary right-to-work and compliance checks.
