The successful candidate will have the ability if desired to follow a hybrid office / working from home approach in the role Requirements: For this key role we are looking for the candidate to have the following: Some experience gained in a highway design related field, with experience of supporting the development of schemes for either the public sector or developers. A level of demonstrable proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and / or AutoCAD. Beneficial to have some experience in the preparation and / or review of Transport Assessments and other transport and highways related documents prepared in support of planning applications. Beneficial to have some experience of provided pre-application advice to developers on Transport and Highways matters. Be an enthusiastic and diligent individual who likes a challenge and is willing to learn. You should have good communication skills, a collaborative approach and a proven ability to deliver work on time. You should be a qualified professional with HNC/HND/Degree or Masters in a relevant subject (e.g., civil engineering, transport planning) Desirable to be member of Professional Body, such as ICE or CIHT. Key Responsibilities Assist in the delivery of small to medium transport planning projects, supporting senior team members with budget management, scheduling, and project coordination Prepare and contribute to Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Access Appraisals, and Technical Notes Support site visits, providing input to inform scheme development Work with modelling packages, AutoCAD, TRICS, and other transport planning tools to support analyses Attend project team, client, and Local Highway Authority meetings alongside senior colleagues Help prepare materials for public consultations Build positive working relationships with architects, planners, and highways officers Contribute to fee proposals for smaller projects Skills & Experience Required Degree-level qualification or equivalent in Transport, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline Minimum of 2 years' experience in transport planning Working knowledge of relevant design guidance and awareness of local planning policies Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to prioritise tasks, work well in a team, and take initiative Competent with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, TRICS, and transport modelling software Benefits Pension scheme and private healthcare Generous annual leave with options to buy or sell Performance bonus scheme and annual salary review Flexible hybrid working arrangements Cycle-to-work scheme, sick pay, and parental benefits Professional membership fees and training/CPD support Annual flu vaccinations, home working options, and dress-down Fridays Social events and team activities This is a fantastic opportunity for a Transport Planner with at least 2 years' experience to gain more responsibility, work on varied projects, and develop their career in a supportive, growing consultancy.
