Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 2 buyers and 2 BAs to deliver the commercial business strategy for Cosmetics.
- Identify and source new products, deliver competitive promotional plans.
- Interact with stakeholders: Commercial, suppliers, marketing, merchandising, supply chain and, occasionally, AS Watson.
- Develop, implement and deliver category plans including range reviews, promotions, pricing and stock to align with commercial strategy and financial objectives.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop promotion plans and strategies for the brands.
- Review and evaluate the effectiveness of promotions, taking action where necessary and sharing best practice.
- Work with suppliers to launch & develop NPD, negotiate exclusivity periods and bespoke campaigns on big brands.
- Read and interpret market data for day to day category management, make customer led decisions, negotiate fixed investment.
- Present strategic objectives beyond day to day promotions, pricing and star buys.
- Partner with merchandising to agree merchandising strategy, ensure range fit, store availability and slow moving stock control.
- Coordinate with supply chain to maintain sales & forecast adherence and in store availability.
- Develop and maintain effective external supplier relationships to enhance product proposition.
- Employ appropriate negotiation strategies to attain best terms for the category and business.
- Manage and coach team members to achieve category and personal development objectives, and take responsibility for own professional development.
