Nursery Assistant

As a Nursery Assistant, you will work alongside experienced practitioners to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for children aged between 0 and 5 years. You will assist in planning and delivering engaging activities that promote children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

• Support the implementation of the EYFS curriculum, ensuring that each child's individual needs are met
• Assist in planning and preparing age-appropriate activities and learning experiences
• Engage with children through play, storytelling, singing, and other interactive activities
• Help children develop their language, communication, and social skills
• Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times
• Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating environment
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide high-quality care and education
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and carers
• Observe, assess, and record children's progress, sharing information with parents and other professionals as required
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities

• Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent experience
• Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team and build strong relationships with children and families
• Creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for working with young children
• Patience, empathy, and a caring nature
• Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including occasional weekends and evenings
• Valid DBS check and satisfactory references
