Consultant Ecologist - Dorset
Salary: 27,000 - 32,000 (DOE)
Location: Dorset

Are you an experienced Ecologist ready to take the next step in your career? Our client, a respected multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality environmental and ecological services across the UK, is seeking a Consultant Ecologist to join their friendly and expanding Dorset team.



The Role

You'll play a key part in supporting a diverse range of ecological projects - from small-scale developments to large infrastructure and conservation schemes. Working as part of an experienced ecology team, you'll contribute to:

  • Designing and implementing ecological surveys (including protected species and habitat assessments).

  • Preparing clear, concise ecological reports and impact assessments.

  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and local planning authorities.

  • Supporting junior staff and contributing to team knowledge-sharing.



About You

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and passionate about ecology and conservation. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant degree in ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline.

  • At least 2 years' consultancy experience.

  • Good botanical and/or protected species identification skills.

  • Membership (or eligibility) of CIEEM.

  • A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

  • Protected species licences (e.g. bat, GCN) would be an advantage.
