Job Title: Principal Air Quality Consultant
Location: Remote - UK Wide
Salary: 60,000 - 70,000 + Excellent Benefits

We're working with a leading environmental consultancy looking to appoint a highly experienced and commercially minded Principal Air Quality Consultant to help lead and grow their UK air quality team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional to take on a strategic leadership role - combining technical delivery, business development, and team growth - within a forward-thinking, supportive consultancy.



The Role

As Principal Air Quality Consultant, you'll take ownership of major air quality and dispersion modelling projects across the UK, providing expert technical and strategic input while helping shape the future direction of the team. You'll work closely with clients, regulators, and planning authorities to deliver impactful solutions, while mentoring junior consultants and supporting the development of business opportunities.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of complex air quality and dispersion modelling projects

  • Contribute expert input to EIAs and environmental assessments

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and develop new business opportunities

  • Prepare high-quality proposals, bids, and commercial strategies

  • Mentor and manage junior consultants within the growing air quality team

  • Engage with regulators, planning authorities, and project teams to achieve successful outcomes



About You

  • 8+ years' experience in air quality consultancy or a related regulatory role

  • In-depth knowledge of ADMS, AERMOD, and IAQM/EPUK guidance

  • Proven track record in business development and client management

  • Experience leading and mentoring teams

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geography, or a related field

  • Chartered status (CEnv / IAQM) desirable

  • Strong communication, leadership, and commercial awareness
